Spinal Corrective Care is a system that promotes an optimal spine position for patients through chiropractic adjustments and specialized rehab. Its purpose is to decrease pain improve function, and build health for years to come. Just like we as humans have a normal blood pressure, the spine has normal positions. It has to be straight up and down when looking from the front or back. When looking at the spine from the side we have to have three very specific curves: in the neck, mid-back, and low back. When the body is in these positions, it operates at its best. If the positions are lost, the body may be in a state of dis-ease. This can lead to many common issues such as pain, headaches, digestive problems or even fibromyalgia to name a few.
In our clinic, X-rays are typically taken prior to treatment. This is to rule out trauma or pathology and to show the position of your spine in relation to the optimal placement. These images then provide specific treatment locations. Throughout care, we may also take additional x-rays, as part of the corrective care process, to show how your spine has adapted. The approach of taking x-rays during care differs from most other chiropractors, since other offices may not focus on normalizing the spine's position or follow up with post x-rays to show improvement.
Doctor Randy suffers from two autoimmune diseases. Through chiropractic he has been able to manage and control them. Here is his story:
My autoimmune diseases are Addison's and Psoriasis.
Psoriasis is a fairly common autoimmune disease but Addison's, only 1 in 100,000 people in the world suffers from it. I was diagnosed when I was 20 and I was put on prednisone and fludrocortisone for the rest of my life. After a couple of years of taking those medications, my body started suffering from side effects which led to more emergency room visits. At the age of 23, the transformation came when at chiropractic college they showed me how amazing the body is at healing itself. This process would all start with an X-ray.
My first X-ray showed that my spine was far from having the perfect curves even though it was straight front to back. After receiving spinal corrective treatments for 6 months I was able to reduce 50% of my medications and my side effects were gone. But why did this happen?
First, by getting adjusted the brain-gut connection is kept strong. In our bodies, everything is run by the nervous system. How our bodies heal, digest food, and even how we manage stress are messages sent from the brain, down the spinal cord and out through individual nerve patterns that communicate to a specific organ, tissue, or cell. Similarly, the organs also send messages back to the brain to let it know how they are functioning. By keeping this positive feedback loop strong my body stays highly functional.
Secondly, working with the gut itself is where most autoimmune diseases stem from. After years of consuming the Midwestern Diet; McDonald's drive throughs and multiple medications, I had such a dysbiosis of bad bacteria in my gut which led to adult onset diseases. Specific urine testing helped me discover this and cleared it up with a change in diet and healthy supplementation.
We can help others when we search for the cause and not manage the symptoms. For every cause there's a reason behind it. Preventative testing like x-rays looking for nerve pressure and urine testing are great ways of determining those causes and even preventing future disease manifestation.
If you were involved in an auto accident, no matter how minor or serious, it is important to seek care and have a thorough exam and history performed. This will facilitate any treatment that may be required and ensure a patient’s health after such an event.
Due to the traumatic nature of auto accidents, your body is built to respond by protecting you. That protective mechanism may mean that symptoms may not show up right away. Symptoms from an auto accident can show up many months after the actual incident and is another reason why seeking care immediately can ensure a patient’s health. If you waited to seek care after an auto accident, and are starting to suffer from symptoms that may have “come out of nowhere,” do not hesitate to make an appointment and get checked.
Many symptoms from an auto accident, such as neck or back pain, headaches, or whiplash to name a few are effectively treated with chiropractic care. By taking a whole spine approach and combining it with our spinal corrective care, we can speed the recovery process, by getting you out of pain and also work to ensure that future issues are minimized.
Have you ever scraped your knee, fallen off a bike, or broken a bone? We all have. Then a couple days go by or even months and the injury is completely healed. That's the power within the body to heal itself without medications, injections or surgery. We didn't have to tell it to heal, there's an Innate Intelligence inside of us that does it for us. Sometimes that power can be inhibited by subluxations in our spine which delays healing and recovery times. In the worst cases, patients don't heal at all and develop chronic conditions. The power of chiropractic is the ability to detect, locate, and remove those interferences and allow the body to heal from the inside out. Not the outside in. This not only gets a sick person healthy, but it can keep a healthy person well and offer a higher quality of life.
Since the nervous system controls everything in the body, there are many symptoms chiropractic care can help with. We have seen children from 2 weeks of age with troubles breastfeeding, severe acid reflux or constipation upwards to patients in their 90's with crippling arthritis. It's also more than just pain we can help with in our clinic. Patients with M.S., fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis have also had great results with managing their symptoms. We are not a cure-all clinic but we work with the patient's ability to heal from the inside out and that allows us to get the results that we do.
If you have a symptom or a concern about a health issue you may be experiencing, take the first step towards healing and schedule an initial consultation to meet with one of our spinal corrective experts as soon as possible.
